Introducing Print Your Mind 3D Carbon Fiber Nylon Filament
We are very excited to now offer a new, tough, and durable carbon fiber nylon 3D printing filament. This is an exciting addition to our line of premium filaments including PLA, ABS, PETG, and Woodfill materials. This nylon is reinforced with chopped carbon fiber to offer engineering grade stiffness, impact resistance, and tensile strength. Our filament allows you to produce high-strength functional parts even easier than standard nylon thanks to the added fibers. It also offers a beautiful matte finish without the need for any post processing.
Our filaments are made in the USA using very high quality standards of +/- 0.05mm in diameter and +/-0.03mm in roundness. A portion of every sale is allocated to our Enviromaker initiatives to support education, innovation, and sustainability.
Use a hardened nozzle
The added carbon fiber makes this material very abrasive. This is why we highly suggest using a hardened nozzle as standard brass nozzles will wear. We have a collection of hardened nozzles including:
The Print Core CC Red 0.6 for the Ultimaker S5
Hardcore Print Core with Everlast Nozzle for the Ultimaker 3 or Ultimaker 3 Extended.
Wear Resistant ICE Nozzles for the Ultimaker 2+ or Ultimaker Extended+
Steel Hardened Nozzles for Lulzbot 3D printers
Recommended Settings
Nozzle temperature: 250-265C
Bed temperature: 60-70C with PVA glue stick
Print speed: 25-35mm/sec
Cooling fans off
Always store in away from moisture as nylon tends to absorb moisture more readily than other materials. See our recommendations for how to store you filaments.
Tested For Superior Performance
After extensive testing with various Lulzbot and Ultimaker 3D printers, we can assure you that you can print with confidence knowing you can expect quality results. We vigorously tested the material to ensure a top quality performance with the 3D printers we carry.
2.85mm vs 3.00mm
We often get questions about the difference between 2.85mm and 3.00mm filaments. Usually, most filaments labelled as 3.00mm will actually be closer to 2.85mm in diameter. Our materials are truly 2.85mm filaments which means superior printing performance with Ultimaker 3D printers, as well as those that require 3.00mm such as Lulzbot Taz 6 and Mini. Just remember to configure your slicing software for a true 2.85mm material and you can expect impressive results.
